The festive season is well upon us now and we’re sure you’ll be starting to consider, and maybe buy, Christmas presents for your loved ones. If you’re looking for thoughtful gifts with wellness in mind, then you’ll know that it can be hard to find a special gift on the high street. We’ve teamed up with some of our favourite wellbeing brands, to offer you some inspiration for homemade, lovingly-made made gifts from independent businesses who are passionate about spreading the wellness love.
1) Chunky 100% merino wool scarf from Lauren Aston Designs
If you haven’t come across Lauren Aston Designs before, then you’re in for a treat. Lauren creates soft furnishings and knitwear using 100% merino wool – the cosiest fabric you can possibly imagine – and knits with the coolest giant needles, all from her home studio in Devon. Her designs are some of the most unique we’ve ever seen, and you can choose from a whole variety of gorgeous colours! Her Santa Hat design has proven so popular this year that she can no longer guarantee Christmas delivery, but we think her chunky Rapunzel Scarf, £55, is an ideal gift for someone special.
2) Private yoga lesson from Yogassential
If you know someone who’s mad about yoga or is keen to take it up next year, Yogassential offer the gift of a private yoga session through their app. Sisters Raquelle and Jessica set up the business after discovering that yoga teachers were struggling to find clients and that clients were struggling to find teachers. They knew how much people loved yoga and felt passionate about bringing them together! Private sessions range from £45-£120 and you can choose a teacher from various locations throughout the UK.
3) Monthly Subscription to LifeBox
For those who love trying the latest wholesome food products on the market, give them the gift of a monthly box of goodies, £22.95, delivered right to their door with LifeBox. They’ll receive everything from snack bars, herbal teas, superfood powders, raw chocolate, dried fruit and much more. This is a great gift for those who are often on-the-go and want to look after themselves and nourish their bodies at the same time. You can choose the wellness package, or one aimed specifically at men or women!
4) Oil-infused bath salts
The Post-Christmas period tends to be when people wind down with a bit of time off; much needed after the social festive period. We recently launched a range of bath salts at Geo Mitchell, £14.50, infused with 100% natural essential oils for indulgent and nourishing long soaks in the bath. Choose from relaxing lavender and energising eucalyptus! All our products are created with wellbeing in mind, as we want to help you improve yours in a natural, holistic way that’s accessible and inexpensive.
5) You Do You by Sarah Knight
Sarah is well known for her best-selling books The Life-Changing Magic of Not Giving a F*ck and Getting Your Sh*t Together, but now she’s back with the brand-new, You Do You, which encourages you to love yourself just as you are in a world that doesn’t make that easy for anyone. We listen too closely to what society tells us, leading us to making decisions that aren’t our own. Instead, she suggests we shake off the expectations this Christmas and New Year, let ourselves off the hook a bit more, and start looking after for number one.
6) Inspirational illustrated prints
Jodie is a Bristol-based illustrator who originally started out creating greetings cards for her friends and family. When demand picked up, she founded her business, Sunshine for Breakfast, and now she creates a range of cards, products and prints with a nature and floral theme, and she uses beautiful calligraphy for messages and quotes. She’s soon to bring out stationary and homeware gifts, but we love her inspirational print, Keep Your Eyes on the Stars, and Your Feet on the Ground, £15.
7) Two Thirds T-Shirt
For environmental lovers, a stylish-yet-thoughtful gift by a brand who create products with the beautiful, big blue ocean in mind could be just the trick. Two Thirds is named after the ocean itself – after all, two thirds of the planet are made up of it. Their simple t-shirts are made with ethically sourced material and a whole lot of love, with a whale symbol making its way onto much of the clothing range.
